Home Sweet Home

So I'm back from my summer vacation to Japan and Korea with Daya and my grandmother. We went to Kyoto, Osaka and Seoul for 15 days. Now that I'm back in this sunny island, I can't wait for my next vacation which probably will take a super long time to happen.

How do I feel for Japan?
  • Clean - I meant really clean... I can't even describe how clean Japan is.
  • Perfect weather - Summer but at 20 degress?! That's like having aircon everywhere around you.
  • Friendly people - Everyone there is genuinely nice and helpful.
  • My favourite country for the time being
How do I feel for Korea?
  • Great country for Muslims - Super easy to find halal food wherever I go.
  • Shopping paradise - Great place to shop if you wanna stock up on clothes. Fashionable and affordable!
  • Tourist-friendly public transport system - Super easy to navigate wherever we wanna go!
I will blog more about my trip soon. Maybe once I get the photos from Daya. So many things for me to do, now that I'm back.

Blessings and Prayers

An adventure comes with a risk. This time I'm taking a really high risk. All I'm asking for is for blessings from my loved ones and prayers from everyone. Pray for my health as well as the people around me. For us to be safe from any illnesses in this world, for our safety. Pray for the very best. For us to all be good. In pink of health, no matter what happens.

Something's exciting coming up real soon!

Love,
Me.

Prudential Eye Singapore 2015

About a few months ago, T.O.P came to Singapore for an art exhibition. He practically "ninja-ed" himself here because no one anticipated his arrival to this little red dot island. His presence was known by word of mouth... Or shall I say, people spotting him and then posted the news up online?

Anyway, Daya and I got to know of the exhibition. And guess what, they allowed free admission for visitors who come on the first day in the months of April, May and June. So the both of us had to grab the opportunity!

Well, I was busy with exams in May so I told Daya that we would visit the exhibition once I'm done with exams. And the best date was on the first of June which turned out to be a public holiday as well. Honestly we anticipated a crowd because it's a public holiday. But we were only one of the few who visited the exhibition!

So we started the day with a great breakfast at Marina Square's CBTL. Eggs Benedict yumzzzz

Yeah you can see our happy faces right there when our food arrived! We were one of the first few customers of the day. Only a guy was dining at CBTL at such an early timing. We were there as early as 9 in the morning!

After filling our tummies, we made our way to the ArtScience Museum. You may say I am biased, but whatever... I just love the whole Marina Bay area.

We were a little early so we waited outside for about 5 minutes and then went into the exhibition.

It is called Prudential Eye Singapore exhibition.

I am not someone who can really appreciate Arts, but I like most of the showcases there because they are quite interactive.

One of Daya's favourite showcase was The Bohemian Rhapsody Project by Ho Tzu Nyen. It is actually a musical scene acted out with the script lines from the famous song Bohemian Rhapsody by the Queens. It was good actually. If you know the song, you'll actually find it funny. Or maybe, because my humour level is different from others.

My favourite showcase would be this interactive Ping Pong Go-Round. A normal table tennis game usually consists at most 4 players with a rectangular table. But for this game, the table is of a donut-shaped table. So a few players would be inside of the table and a few players outside. Trust me, it was not an easy game because... Well, I'm really not a table tennis person. Neither can I do badminton or tennis. But I really had fun being part of the showcase.

Here's a short video of what we did yesterday!

Oh, and the highlight of the day at the museum was when a Korean dude came up to us. So, Daya was trying to make a fanart for Seungri on one of the projector screen (one of the showcases!) and then the guy was curious as to why were there Korean letters on the screen. Turns out, he's a fan of Seungri!

I hope to bump into friendly Koreans/Japanese people when I'm there.

Speaking of that, a few more days to my trip! So excited yet worried for my grandmother! May Allah SWT protect us.

Hidayah's 24th Birthday Celebration

Yesterday marked Hidayah's 24th birthday and well, I have been feeling under the weather ever since exams ended. I hadn't been able to make anything special for her celebration this year, thanks to exams. Luckily, her sister Kakak Hayati made some plans. So I just went with the flow.

We planned to meet at Dhoby Ghaut to treat the birthday lady (no longer a girl, oops!) at Sakura International Buffet Restaurant. I don't even know why we decided to eat at Sakura today when in a few days' time, we are going to fly to the land of Sakura. (Can you sense my excitement!)

So who was part of this whole plan?

Nabilah who is Hidayah's BFF, Kakak Hayati and I.

How was the food at Sakura International Buffet Restaurant?

It was GOOD. Seafood is just my thing.

Honestly I feel we need more halal food restaurants. If you know Malays, you should know that we do not mind spending money on food. Halal food. Birthdays, anniversaries, you name it. Any events... we will go out as a family or with a large group of friends to eat. It's like.. part of our culture. So, to anyone who plans to join the food industry, it doesn't kill you to get that halal certificate from MUIS. Trust me, you will benefit a lot from it.

After the dinner, we headed to Hidayah's place to cut her birthday cake. It was supposed to be done before our dinner but Hidayah's parents collected the cake from the shop late.

Yes, by now you can sense that this whole birthday celebration is not really a surprise birthday celebration.

I have been close with Hidayah for a few years now. We are comfortable with each other. Our friendship has been strong so far and I hope this friendship will go till we become grandmothers. I hope that we will have each other in every milestone of our lives.

I did a lot of things for the first time with her. Back when I first got to know her, I never anticipated this is how our friendship will be like now. We are more like sisters than BFFs. Her family is like mine. And well my family... My parents know a lot of things about our friendship. I shared with them all the crazy adventures Hidayah and I had embarked on.

And later, in a few days' time, we are going to embark on a really really crazy adventure with my grandmother. Yes, you read that right. We dragged my grandmother into our roller-coaster adventure to the land of of wasabi and kimchi.

I am glad that I have found a friend who in a million ways similar to me yet different. Older and wiser whenever I need some advices on the things happening around me.

To many more birthdays with each other. To many more adventures together.

24 and more. ♥

LOSER - ENGLISH VERSION

To many, K-Pop may not be something cool. The moment they know how much I love Taeyang or BIGBANG, many will immediately go like "Eww K-Pop!" or have this negative mindset towards K-Pop. Don't get me wrong. I'm not just a fan of Korean music. I listen to any type of music as long as it sounds good, to me.

Yes, I'm a fangirl and I know one day, I will look back at whatever I've done for all these idols and laugh at myself. But these memories... They are special, definitely one of a kind. I know I will treasure them well. Because through K-Pop, I've gotten closer to people who do not really care about how noisy and annoying I can be. I'm very very grateful for that. Thanks to K-Pop too, I have exposure to the media industry. I've learnt many things through it. They say knowledge is power, then I can say that I've gained a little more power through K-Pop.

So you can comment and mock all you want. You can say I'm uncool. You can say whatever I'm doing is embarrassing. You can say that I'm making a fool out of myself. Even if they hurt me like crazy, I'll brush them off calmly. Or probably complain to my friends and cry to myself then get over it.

To those who really like the video, thank you! It's not easy for my friends and I to come up with this. I was busy with exams, they're busy with work. But we came up with what we did and this whole experience really brought our friendship closer!

My friends really wanted to join this whole BIGBANG M Cover Event, so as their friend, I just showed my support and helped them with whatever I can. We are really just a bunch of girls from Singapore, trying out new things in life and have fun!

Ivory which means white and that is a representation of purity. This song and video came from our pure loving hearts.

To those who mock at us, well at least we had the courage to join this whole event. We couldn't care much about all the judgmental people in this world. So hate all you want because haters gonna hate hate hate (you may play Shake It Off by Taylor Swift here!) and continue to be a person who kept mocking others. You do not gain anything from that, in my opinion. And in this world, you can never please everyone.

Konsert Amal 3 Negara

On the Sunday afternoon, Nabilah texted me asking me whether I was free to go for a Malay concert that Taufik Batisah is performing. It was held at Resorts World Sentosa. Well, she knows how much of a fan I am. Initially I was reluctant. But I just decided to go since I didn't have to pay. Free tickets, my favourite!

We came in right on time. The show was supposed to start at 8PM but... JANJI MELAYU STANDARD!

Taufik opened the stage with Sesuatu Janji. I didn't take any photos or videos of it. We were too far behind. I only managed to take Awak Kat Mane and snippets of some other songs. Ok, I didn't really take them. Nabilah did the job.

Not many people screamed for him at my area. Luckily Nabilah and I had each other by our side. We screamed our hearts out for Taufik. But he just had to talk about his wife and that got Nabilah and I rolling our eyes. I'm sorry Taufik, you had broken millions of hearts the moment you got married. Though you're married now, I'll still support you because your music is just my jam and you are a really good performer!

After Taufik ended his segment with Awak Kat Mane, Dato' Jamal Abdillah came on. Boy, you have no idea how popular he was at that concert. Uncles and aunties stood up while dancing to his performance. It was like these older people just got younger again. I actually turned to Nabilah's mum and said to her, "Wow, he's actually really popular!" Well I know him but I've never really been a fan of him. I do know some of his songs, but that's just it.

Dato' Jamal Abdillah started his performance with Gadis Melayu and obviously we all screamed along~ Yes not sing along but scream along!

He then asked for a few song requests from the audience and sang it acapella right away. His vocals really impressed me. I wish I could hit the notes right on point just like him but sigh, I can't even sound normal when I sing.

Here's more of Dato' Jamal Abdillah's performance:

It was a really short segment for Dato' and soon after, a comedian group from Malaysia called Bocey came on. I didn't really laugh at their skit. I didn't really find them that funny. Probably because my humour level is not on the same level as the rest of the audience.

And finally, my favourite performance of the night.... NOAH! Or, can I just say that I still prefer calling them Peterpan?

Back in my teenage years, Peterpan's songs were da bomb. Heartbreaking, emotional, favourite post-break-up songs! And during my secondary school days, I was close to this friend, Ain who was a huge fan of Ariel. I was a fan of Peterpan's songs but Ain was on another level. Like how I love Taeyang, yes that's how it is. Or maybe I'm crazier hahaha oops!

I shall just let the videos tell the story of what happened that night!

Still can't get enough of Noah/Peterpan? Here's some more photos of Ariel! Sorry our eyes were glued to Ariel.

I really gotta thank my babe for the free ticket! I'm lucky to have found the most understanding friend ever who could get high and crazy with me. Fangirling together and saying yes to every single crazy thing I wanted to do during the concert. To many more concerts with the people I love!

Ariel was really charming that night. I always thought he edited his voice or something... but NO. He sounded exactly the same just like when I downloaded his songs online. I couldn't stop screaming while he was performing. I guess guys who can sing has a really special place in my heart. Since I can sing hahaha please understand everybody.

First.

Hello.

I have decided to make this blog to document all the events happening in my life so that I can always go back and read them again whenever I miss those memories and the people involved in the events. I hope those people who read this blog will enjoy my crazy (also probably wordy~) posts.

Love, Me.
