upgrade 2.0

Everyone knows how much I love Sona.
And today it just escalated.

Tell me this means a yes from him on our relationship.

Everyone's favourite Jedi, but he's my favourite Mama's boy

Tanya: Siapa rapper favouriteku? Saya!

Yesterday I did something crazy again. By crazy, I mean bringing my friend who wears a hijab to a place she shouldn't be at. But don't worry nothing much happened, just pure fangirling.

Few days ago, Azreena texted me about the #3rdGGC Anniversary show which I already knew about and told me she wanted to go there alone since my boy Sonaone would be performing at the event. So I told her that I would go with her, I mean no I ain't letting my hijabi girl go there alone and partly because I really wanna meet my boy.

This is us acting all crazy.

He performed for a really short time, but let me tell you last night was just perfect! Oh, and can you spot that halal gap between Azreena and Sona? 😂

Sona came out and did his thing. He did it well as usual! But the moment he came to my side, I saw this smirk. It's like he knows me but I just told myself to not be perasan and shiok sendiri and then, he kept coming to our side again and again. Well I'm not sure if he was trying to steal some looks at Azreena and I because really, we stood out last night.

Before he left the stage, he shook hands with us and that got us screaming. People around us were staring at us probably wondering why we were overly crazy over him. Because most of the people around us actually came for the other performers.

After the event, we waited for 5 minutes hopping for Sona to come out from the backstage at the place but he didn't so I told Azreena that we should just leave. But my girl really wanted to take a photo with my boy. So we waited near the driveway area at the back. I was really tired to the point that I just sat by the roadside 😅

Lucky for us, he came out and it was really great to hear him said, "Oh hey, I remember you..." the moment he saw me hahaha of course I doubted at first but he assured me when I asked if it was Influence Asia but we all know that Instagram was probably the reason he remembers me up till today.

But something I cannot forget and cannot stop getting excited over.... When he said, "Most probably I'm coming back in May!" And when I asked "For what?", he answered with a cheeky smirk. Now I can't wait for exams to be over, well let's not just come back here in May. Come back here in July as well because I need my boy with me on my birthday!

3 years?

I'm supposed to be busy mugging for exams, but clearly I'm distracted. What's new, right?

Azreena texted me in the morning, wanting to meet me for lunch. I woke up pretty late, so I told her dinner would be a better option. Apart from eating, we just kept on talking and talking... there are just so many things we can talk about.

It's been 3 years since I first met her. Our friendship just got better from there, alhamdulillah.

Snapchat is really the in thing now.

I was already planning to get home early tonight but I took the wrong mrt so I ended up at Buona Vista. Since I was already there, I decided to text Aisah and she invited me to chill at her hall. Pretty obvious, I'm the best at procrastination. We didn't do anything, just spent a good 2 and a half hours talking to each other. The both of us felt like we just got to know each other but we have seen each other grow so much honestly.

We are both in different schools, doing different things. But we still laugh as much as before, or maybe even more. The topics we talk about these days are more mature and we're both pretty shocked (and scared!) at how things are moving way too fast. I wish I can share the things we talked about, but it'll be too much for everyone to handle. So let's keep it between us.

I'm just glad I got to meet both my girls today. Didn't expect to divide my time for both of them today, but hey I did it. Oh, and I also completed some past exam questions after meeting them. It ain't that bad, right?

On another note, I can still fit into my primary school t-shirt.
This one's a pretty ancient one.

Now, to sleep or to study?

Awet Muda

Today I bumped into this auntie who used to sell Malay food at my primary school.
If you're from my primary school, you may know her, Cik Ani.

We share the same birth date. I remember during my primary school one time, people were wishing me on my birthday and she told me it was her birthday too. I swear I didn't know how to react, I mean "Am I supposed to give you a present?" so I just smiled and wished her a happy birthday.

I was on my way to my tutee's place and surprisingly, she was going to the same area. We talked quite a lot for a good 15 minutes.

She kept telling me how much I have not changed over the years. Can you guys believe it that primary school education was 10 years ago for me? That's pretty long honestly. She told me that my face didn't change a little bit. I honestly don't know if that's good or bad. Because hey, I look super selenge in primary school. I mean, don't we all? She even asked me for tips on how I looked like I didn't age a bit. She made my day, because that means I have such a baby looking face. Who is Min Hyorin again?

So do I look awet muda like how the auntie said it?

Oh, and before we both go on our separate ways... She prayed for me to find a good jodoh.

Well, Sona is a pretty nice boy when I met him. Oh, and he's Muslim too!

Lately, I've been pretty obsessed with this Mama's boy.

Nenek, your upcoming hip traveller

Busy and tiring day, that's how I feel about today.

This morning, MAEC organised an outing to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve so I had to be up and out earlier than usual.

I was the GL for the Blue group, together with Izzati and Haziq. It's amazing how I managed to bond with the kids and attend to their needs, and still entertained the parents while walking through out the Sungei Buloh trail and sweating my calories off.

🙉🙈🙊

My biggest mistake today was to wear my new shoes. I couldn't find my Skechers shoes this morning, the one that I wore to Japan and Korea last year. So I had to give in to those striking purple and pink shoes. Fatty chose it for me when we were in Bandung, he has pretty unique taste. I mean seriously, who would buy and wear those shoes? They're too striking. Oh well, I did. My shoes got a lil dirty after the trail. Pretty lucky for me because that pair of shoes didn't cost me a bomb, so the pain is still bearable.

The kids kept asking me questions. One after another throughout the whole trail. Some of them even held on to my hands, bag straps and my top. They were basically all over me. And since I had to ensure they're always practising safety, I had to make sure they're not running around and boy it was pretty tiring! I really salute all the pre-school and primary school teachers. You guys have my respect!

I didn't join them for the second part of the day. They continued their activities at West Coast but I had to go off because I had to send Nenek and Halijah off to Melbourne.

I'm so glad that Nenek is travelling around more often than before. Almost 2 years have passed since Atuk left us and I know how much they loved travelling especially Atuk. It's their favourite past time. Even though Atuk is no longer with us, I want her to keep on travelling. Keep on discovering the world while she can!

She's not educated, she can't speak English well, barely even understands that language. I hate how sometimes the younger ones look down at the older ones for being less educated than them and the younger ones always act like they know it all when honestly they don't. I want her to go all "Oh yeah I've been to those countries!" and surprise them with stories about the countries she has gone to if anyone will ever go "Oh you don't know how beautiful *insert country name* looks like! 🙄" to her. Just imagine the shock faces of those arrogant people 😈

Nenek invited me to join for this trip but I had to say no because of finals 😢 But it's ok, I'll get there one day. Actually I have plans for a trip that's coming soon, but first I need to save up enough then I'll spill some beans along the way.

Right after checking in, we went to have supper at Kopitiam and I had a great talk with Halijah and her boyfriend. So far, this guy she's with has been earning good points from the Zakaria's family. We had talks over so many topics. I mean come on, when you talk to me, we can talk just about anything and there's no end to it.

Recently, I took a cab home after hanging out with Daya at night. We talked non-stop throughout the whole ride from MBS till her place. The taxi auntie actually asked if we had not been meeting each other for quite some time. I actually laughed a little and then answered her. It's amazing how I text her everyday, meet her almost every single day too and still, we can talk so much. Maybe I'm a little too talkative.

Anyway, back to today. There were people in grey uniforms sitting behind us. I was actually curious about their job but I kept quiet until I saw my cousin Haikal talking to the dude behind us. Lucky for him, my uncle took this photo and he kinda photobombed us. I asked him a few questions and both he and his colleagues answered. It was all good... until my dear little cousin Izat had to go, "Who is this, Kakak? Your boyfriend?" right in front of him. That just got both of us pretty awkward, I must say. I tried to recover from the situation by laughing it off and replying that little minion with "No lah, we don't even know each other. How can that be my boyfriend?" I was slowly walking away from my position right after saying that. Nope, not the best way to recover from such awkward situations.

Nenek and Halijah will be away for a month. A month in the land of kangaroos and koala. Nenek has gone to Japan, Korea, Bandung and now, Australia all in the span of less than a year. She's travelling more than those people you see who wanna act like they're touring the world, those travel blogger wannabes. But whatever, because all I hope for now is that they'll have fun and come back safely after a month!

sicksicksick

I've been down with fever for the past week.
Whenever I feel like "hey, this is it, I've recovered!", my body disagrees and go into sick mode again.
Not the best time to be sick, definitely.
Less than 2 months to finals, I'm in deep shit.
I'm still not fully recovered.

Busy with... nothing?

I'm not really sure what I've been busy with... I took a gamble and skip my prelims this time round. Yes, I'm studying for finals. But the question is, will I be exam ready by then?

If you ask me what I've been busy with, well I've been spending a lot of time on tuition. This was taken by my tutee aka Nabilah's cousin Fatris. I'm slowly growing closer to her cousins and their cats. Their cats are just so so cute. I mean, just look at this one. Isn't she cute without even trying? Her name is Kelly. You'll definitely see me talk more about them here since I spend a lot of time with them now.

Anyway, the past few days have been amazing. I've been going to the movies way more than usual in less than a month's time.

Deadpool, checked and disappointing.
How To Be Single, checked. Must-watch!
Ride Along 2, checked. Asian and black humour. Love it!

How To Be Single with Haris and Daya

I caught this movie on Saturday right after cooking for the family, which they said "still got a lot to improve on". Serious question, should I really give up trying to improve my cooking skills and just pray I marry a husband who can cook or should I keep on trying?

Haris was being random that day. Asked Daya and I if we had any plans that Saturday evening, and next thing I know... we're sitting in the same cinema theatre watching a chick flick movie.

I could totally relate to this movie.

Alice's sister, well kinda... I really wanna have a kid but not really be in a committed relationship. We all know that's not possible because of my religion but still... let me dream.

Alice, yes. Come on, let's face it. Sometimes we need people in our lives because they're handy... their presence benefit our daily lives. I know way too many girls who are with their guys because they can support them financially, these guys can be their drivers... and the list goes on.

Lucy, a little bit. Well, I've been keeping my options open. I reply anyone who tries to hit me up? But really, some are jerks or really... boring? And your pick up lines... my girl friends make better pick up lines than you. Just be you. That's enough, really.

Robin, totally! My favourite character because she's just funny. All that carefree character... we all know that deep inside her, there's a story that this movie didn't cover. Please have a sequel, a good one!

Daya and I talked about it... and we both agreed, we are a mix of all the characters which is pretty worrying HAHA

I also have been meeting these group of people pretty often. Syahirah just got back from Brunei and we spent till about 2 a.m. yesterday, catching up... hearing her Brunei stories.

She's a property agent. Honestly I wish I got the money to help her boost some sales and also... I really wish to invest in property because it's really worth it. But first, I need some $$$ to do that. The problem here is that, I don't have that so sigh... hopefully in future xx

We talked about so many things. Even up to the point about the trend in hijabs. Apparently Haris didn't know that it's a trend for people to sell hijab now. And we're having this hijab trend. People wearing the hijab for fashion. It's bad, but still better than nothing. I'm sure God will be nice and give you some points ding ding ding just by having the thoughts of covering up and protecting your dignity.

Before meeting my BB gang, I went to catch a movie with D. He was being random, texted me to go and catch a movie with him right after he woke up. That's my movie buddy for you.

We caught Ride Along 2. It was goooooood. Totally made up for the disappointing Deadpool. I made him take a photo of me in front of the Gucci store so that I could post it on my instagram and put a caption that is related to the movie... which I did. Thank God for such nice friends in my life.

And of course, I had to take a photo with Chanel too.

We then decided to just chill at the DC Superheroes cafe at MBS. For the theme, I would give it a thumbs up. But for the food... I'm sorry but there's really a lot to improve.

I ordered the Catwoman Caramel Latte and Lemon Meringue cake. Expensive, but it's at MBS. What do you expect? Almost $23 just for those two. D's Superman coffee (couldn't remember what he ordered) costs about $9.

I took D's phone and posted this. Playing pranks as usual. Did it once with Haris' phone and now I did it again with D's phone. Because it's just so fun to pull some pranks like they wonder what did I do with their phones and then I would laugh at them trying to figure out what I did to their phones.

God, please give them the patience and strength for being my friend.

I just love how my life is right now.
I feel blessed every single day.
Thank you Allah SWT.
